Steve Alsbro is a distinguished supply chain executive with more than 30 years of global leadership experience in procurement, logistics, and operations. With a career spanning Fortune 500 companies and high-tech manufacturing environments, Steve has consistently driven strategic transformation, operational excellence, and measurable business value.
As Vice President of Client Engagement at Sourcing Insights, Steve advises clients on end-to-end supply chain strategies that improve resilience, optimize supplier performance, and reduce risk. Known for his entrepreneurial mindset and consultative approach, he blends real-world execution expertise with deep functional knowledge across the supply chain spectrum. His ability to align strategy with execution has earned him a reputation as a trusted change agent in the global supply chain community.
Steve holds a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Materials & Logistics Management from Michigan State University. He also completed officer training at the U.S. Army Transportation School. A Desert Storm veteran and former company commander, Steve credits his military logistics background with shaping his strategic mindset and commitment to execution under pressure. His professional development includes Lean Six Sigma training and certifications in CPM, Trade Compliance, and global sourcing technologies.
His career highlights include building the supply chain and procurement organization at Solidigm, where he led a 58-person global team and implemented a complete SAP S/4HANA suite while identifying over $150M in savings. At onsemi, Steve served as acting Chief Procurement Officer, overseeing $3.5B in spend and leading teams across eight countries through a strategic transformation that leveraged AI, blockchain, and digital procurement suites. Earlier roles with Plexus and Whirlpool saw him develop global logistics networks, establish aftermarket services divisions, and negotiate major sourcing strategies, including oversight of more than $900M in logistics spend. His broad industry background spans semiconductors, electronics, automotive, appliances, EMS, and retail logistics.
Beyond his professional achievements, Steve values time with his family and enjoys staying active as a boater, biker, wine enthusiast, and occasional golfer. He is the proud father of four children and four grandchildren, with family living in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, and Germany. Steve is also deeply committed to veteran causes, continuing to support Lest We Forget, a veterans organization founded by his father.
